Timber Technik

Inspired by owner and designer Vaughan’s life as a shipwright, Timber Technik’s lighting pieces are a mesmerising portrayal of the shapes of the sea and the ships that inhabit them. 

A shipwright from a long line of master craftsman, Vaughan has over 18 years of experience as a luxury wooden yacht builder. These well honed skills in creating beautiful and sustainable timber products can be clearly seen in his unique light fitting designs, which are carefully handcrafted using steam bending, a common practise in boat building. Timber Technik is a family owned business located in Geelong, Australia.

Sustainability 

Salvaged timber from Tasmania’s wild west coast, harvested from under the waters of Lake Piemen. As this premium timber is from reclaimed sources, some colour and character variation will be present.
